Abstract
A previously unknown system LaPO4–CaKPO4 has been investigated using the X-ray diffraction and thermoanalytical methods (DTA, TG, and DTG). Its phase diagram is proposed. The system contains the phosphate CaKLa(PO4)2 which melts incongruently at 1480 ± 20 °C. This compound exhibits a polymorphic transformation at 1120 °C. Two forms of CaKLa(PO4)2 have been obtained: a hexagonal and a monoclinic one, and some of their calculated structural data are presented.
