Abstract
The reaction of MoO3, H2MoO4 with C6H12N2 and C4H10N2 by the hydrothermal method furnishes a new cluster [(C6H14N2)]2[C4H12N2][Mo8O27] (1). The structure of 1 is triclinic, space group P-1, a=9.561(2) Åa=9.561(2) Å, b=9.849(7) Åb=9.849(7) Å, c=10.889(7) Åc=10.889(7) Å, α=105.09(3)°α=105.09(3)°, β=98.441(17)°β=98.441(17)°, γ=108.22(3)°γ=108.22(3)°, V=910.7(7) Å3V=910.7(7) Å3, R=0.0432R=0.0432 for 3515 observed [I>2σ(I)][I>2σ(I)] reflections. The crystallographically determined solid state structure of 1 shows that the title compound consists of a chain polyanion [Mo8O27]6−, two cations of triethylenediamine, one cation of diethylenediamine.
