Abstract
The single-crystal X-ray data of a 4,4′-bipyridine bismuth(III) complex shows that the compound contain two anionic and cationic 1D chains, [4,4′-bipyH]nn+[Bi(4,4′-bipy)Br4]nn−. Two one-dimensional systems grow into a three-dimensional network by packing via extensively hydrogen-bond network.
