Abstract
Single crystals of the title compound have been obtained via high temperature syntheses from mixtures of the elements. X-ray single crystal data were recorded at room temperature. As previously reported Ca7Co8Sn25 crystallises in the Pr3Rh4Sn13 structure type (space group Pm-3n ) with the lattice constant a=9.5809(2) Åa=9.5809(2) Å. The refinement indicates the partial occupancy of one Sn site by Ca which leads to the composition Ca7Co8Sn25 in contrast to the previously reported composition Ca3Co4Sn13.
