Abstract
► We developed a finite element model (FE model) for quench in MICE coupling magnet. ► This FE model can consider quench back phenomenon during quench process. ► The results of this FE model was consistent with that of a semi-empirical model. ► The effect of quench back on speeding up quench process were analyzed by this model. ► We predicted the quench evolution of the coupling magnet in detail by this FE model.
