► The structure of magnet system in ITER and the CICC conductor are introduced. ► The factors influenced the cabling of superconducting cable for CICC is discussed. ► The outer diameter controlling technique is described. ► Analyzed the relationship between ac loss and structure parameters. ► One 765 m long superconducting cable of CICC for PF coil is manufactured for ITER.
