Abstract
To develop high performance chemical CO2 solvents for high-pressure CO2 capture, we have evaluated several tertiary amine solutions on CO2 absorption and desorption rates and CO2 loading-differences under high-pressure conditions, and also their CO2 absorption heats have been measured. High performance CO2 solvents, RH-1, RH-2 series, and RH-3 series, that are regenerable under high CO2 partial pressure conditions have been developed. These developed CO2 solvents are able to recover CO2 under higher pressure than that of supplied CO2. RH-3c is estimated to reduce the total energy for CO2 capture process, including compression process, to 1.2 GJ/t-CO2.
