Abstract
Acid catalysts such as sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, maleic acid and acetic acid have been used for separating sugars from stalks. The results showed that sulphuric acid was the best separation reagents. With orthogonal experiment and variance analysis, the optimum hydrolysis parameters of the sunflower stalks using sulphuric acid have also been discussed. The results indicated that the parameters were ratio of solid to acid 1/30, reaction time 60 min, and reaction temperature 120°C.
