Abstract

The capture of CO2 on the novel CaO on γ-Al2O3 sorbent was demonstrated experimen tally in the temperature regime of the steam meth ane reforming process. Thermogravimetric analysis illustrated that both capture and regeneration of CO2 can take place at 650 ∘C; however, the kinetics of the two processes are observed to be very dissimilar. The sorbent was successfully wash-coated on a ceramic monolith and a flow-through reactor test of the monolith illustrated the feasibility of CO2 capture from a simulated gas stream.
