Abstract

In this paper, sequential data for 1990-2009 in China is used to conduct empirical analysis of impact of China's fixed assets investment increase on ecological environment. The results show that China's fixed asset investment has longterm stable correlation with economic growth, energy consumption, industrial wastewater and solid waste emissions. China's rapid growth in fixed asset investment, particularly irrational investment structure is important reason for severely damaged ecological environment; Economic growth and high energy consump tion cause the same impact on deterioration of the ecological environment. Therefore, control of investment in fixed asset and development of energy saving and green economy is the key in the further reform.
