Abstract
In2S3 is one of the potential candidates as window/buffer layer in the development of thin film solar photovoltaics. In the present investigation, In2S3 powder has been synthesized by simple solid state reaction method for different S/In ratios, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.5. The chemical composition, structure, optical and electrical studies were carried out using appropriate techniques. The synthesized material changed its crystal structure from cubic to tetragonal when the S/In ratio increased from 1.1 to 1.5. The crystallite size, morphology, optical band gap and electrical resistivity were found to be significantly affected by changing the concentration of the constituent elements.
