Abstract
► Nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) was synthesized on the NaCl substrate by using PECVD. ► Nucleation and growth mechanisms for NCD were investigated. ► Electrostatic attraction is critical for nucleation of NCD grown on NaCl substrate.
