Abstract

Dense Ba(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3/(Ni0.37Cu0.20Zn0.43O)-(Fe2O3)0.96 (BZN/NiCuZn) composites were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method and sintered at 950 °C. The phase composition and surface morphology of the composites were investigated using XRD and SEM, respectively. The dielectric and magnetic properties of the composites are also reported. In low frequency range the dielectric properties of the BZN/NiCuZn composites show Maxwell-Wagner relaxation. In high frequency range the BZN/NiCuZn composites possess high dielectric constants and permeabilities, which can be used in high-frequency communications for capacitor-inductor integrating devices such as electromagnetic interference filters and antennas.

► A new kind of low-temperature sintered magneto-dielectric composites is reported. ► Electromagnetic properties of the composites are investigated. ► Dielectric relaxation in low frequency range of the composites is investigated. ► Composites are candidate materials for high-frequency communications.
