Abstract
The Ni-P alloy was synthesised using pulsed electrodeposition method for two different duty cycle, as it has many advantages compared to other methods. The Ni-P alloy was deposited using nickel chloride & phosphate bath then annealed at 400 °C for 1 h. The percentage of nickel and phosphorus in the alloy was determined from ICP-OES. The spherical shape grains were observed in field emission scanning electron microscope. The X-ray diffraction studies confirm the presence of Ni3P phase in the deposit. The phase transformation of as deposited Ni-P alloy was deduced from differential scanning calorimetry. The vibrating sample magnetometer analysis confirms the soft ferromagnetic behaviour of annealed samples while as deposited samples were having weak ferromagnetic nature. The coercivity and saturation magnetization of the Ni-P alloy are varies with respect to applied current, duty cycle and amount of phosphorus.
