Abstract
► SS441 oxidized with electroless Ni plating showed lower ASR than that of uncoated. ► Fe-Ni inter-diffusion between steel and plating enforced adhesion of oxide scale. ► Ni plating of 8 μm or more could effectively prevent Cr out-migration from steel. ► Ni plating of 8 μm thick was adequate for ASR minimizing and Cr preventing effects.
