Abstract
► Creep behavior of a cast Mg-Al-Zn-Si alloy was studied by compressive and impression creep tests. ► The two employed tests yielded similar stress exponents and activation energies. ► The creep behavior was divided into the low- and high-stress regimes. ► In the low-stress regime, creep mechanism was pipe-diffusion-controlled viscous glide. ► In the high-stress regime, creep mechanism was dislocation climb with back stress.
