Abstract
⺠Primary Al3Sc particles resulted in grain refinement by heterogeneous nucleation. ⺠Weld metal strength and hardness improved due to grain refinement caused by Sc. ⺠Weld metal responded to post-weld aging treatment due to dilution from base metal. ⺠Sc addition improved the high temperature mechanical properties of welds.
