Abstract
⺠We prepared urchinlike γ-MnO2 nanostructures by hydrothermal method. ⺠γ-MnO2 microspheres formed firstly and the nanoneedles grew subsequently. ⺠A rational growth mechanism was proposed. ⺠An effective absorption bandwidth of 8.8 GHz was achieved.
