Abstract
⺠Adherent nanocrystalline diamond coating has been deposited on Ti alloy at low temperature. ⺠The diamond coating, coating/substrate interface and the underlying substrate are comprehensively investigated. ⺠Synchrotron X-ray Laue diffraction is used to track the in-depth substrate microstructure changes. ⺠Low H2 concentration and deposition temperature are sued to mitigate substrate damage.
