Abstract

Solid dye-sensitized solar cells of porphyrin adsorbed on TiO2 particles with iodine have been fabricated and characterized. Influence of the porphyrin in the dye-sensitized solar cells on photovoltaic properties was investigated by experimental results. Microstructure and X-ray diffractions suggested that TiO2 molecules were ordered to form the tetragonal crystal. A slight amount of the crystal disorder caused to inhibit carrier diffusion with recombination at interface between TiO2 and amorphous porphyrin. Photovoltaic mechanism of the solar cells was discussed by the experimental results using quantum calculation.
