Abstract
The dielectric, piezoelectric, and electromechanical properties of the (NaCe)-substituted calcium bismuth niobate (CaBi2Nb2O9, CBN) were investigated. The piezoelectric activities of CBN ceramics were significantly enhanced by (NaCe) co-substitution. The dielectric and electromechanical properties of CBN ceramics at elevated temperature were studied in detail. Compared to the pure CBN ceramics, the substituted CBN ceramics possess a broadened peak. The nearly temperature independent dielectric and electromechanical behavior, coupled with ultrahigh Curie temperature (Tc ∼900 °C), make CBN ceramics promising for high-temperature applications.
