Abstract
A simple synthesis of novel faceted MoS2 nanotubes (NTs) and nanoflowers (NFs) starting from molybdenum oxide and thiourea as the sulphur source is reported. The MoS2 nanotubes with the faceted morphology have not been observed before. Further the as-synthesized MoS2 nanotubes have high internal surface area. The nanostructures have been characterized by a variety of electron microscopy techniques. It is expected that these MoS2 nanostrutures will find important applications in energy storage, catalysis and field emission.
