Abstract

By electrochemical techniques, the electrochemical behavior of four-type titanium-supported anodic coating was studied in electrolytic anti-fouling of brine. The results indicated that the electrochemistry performance of Ti–Ir–Ru anode was the best and ideal anode electrode material of anti-fouling for electrolyzing brine. The auger electron energy spectrum (AES) detected that the surface of Ti–Ir–Ru anode enriched O, Ru and Ir element, while had lower Ti element. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the surface of the Ti–Ir–Ru anode was composed of (Ru,Ti)O2 solid solution and IrO2. Ti–Ir–Ru anode had good electrochemical performance and chemical stability in electrolyzing the seawater because it had superficial chemical effect and insulate action.
