Abstract
Polycrystalline La0.65−xEuxSr0.35MnO3 (x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.30) samples are prepared by sol–gel method, and all of them have a single hexagonal perovskite structure, revealed by X-ray diffraction. The working temperature of the potential cooling material can be changed easily by La-site doping, which is beneficial for the future application in various temperature ranges. Upon an application of a magnetic field of 15 kOe, it is found that the maximum isothermal entropy change (ΔSM) for the La0.65−xEuxSr0.35MnO3 with x = 0.20, reaching a value of 1.67 J kg−1 K−1, occurs at relatively low temperature 301 K.
