Abstract
CuO nanorods were obtained through the reaction of cupric dodecyl sulfate (Cu(DS)2) and NaOH at 80 °C. The products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. The probable mechanism of the formation of CuO nanorods was discussed.
