Abstract
Effects of TiO2 addition on the sinterability, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties were investigated in this paper. The addition of TiO2 increased the sintering temperature slightly. Addition of TiO2 successfully lowered the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency to less than 10 ppm °C−1 when 2.0 mol% TiO2 was added, and decreased the Q × f value from 32,500 to 14,800 GHz at the same time, but did not significantly affect the dielectric constant (22–24 at 6 GHz). Those changes seemed to be attributed to the chemical reaction between TiO2 and La2/3(Mg1/2W1/2)O3 (LMW) during sintering and inhomogeneous multiphase existed as the TiO2 addition amount increased.
