Abstract
												Hexagonal tungsten carbide was synthesized in the thermal system of tungsten–sodium and supercritical carbon dioxide at moderate temperature (600 °C). The synthesized samples were characterized by XRD and SEM. The possible conversion mechanism from tungsten to tungsten carbide was discussed also.
