Abstract
Ce3+/Tb3+-doped lithium–barium–aluminosilicate oxyfluoride glasses have been prepared. Transmission and luminescent properties under UV excitation have been investigated. Luminescent properties were analyzed by measuring the excitation and photoluminescence spectra. Photoluminescence measurements indicate that the sample doped with Ce3+ ion has a strong purplish-blue emission and that doped with Tb3+ ion exhibits bright green emission at about 542 nm under UV excitation. The Ce3+ ion strongly sensitizes the luminescence of the Tb3+ ion in the (Ce3+, Tb3+)-codoped oxyfluoride glass.
