Abstract

Photon emission (PE), positive charge emission (PCE), and negative charge emission (NCE) during fracture, were simultaneously measured in silica glass, single-crystal MgO, and polycrystalline MgO, Al2O3 and ZrO2. The decay behavior strongly depended on materials. Especially, in the silica glass, several bursts of the PCE and NCE coincided in the decay. The NCE count tended to increase with the PCE in all the samples. Moreover, the material having stronger PE exhibited stronger PCE and NCE. Thus, it is found that the time decay and emission count depend on materials.
