Abstract
La0.85Ag0.15Mn1 − yAlyO3 compounds were prepared for y = 0 to 0.20 by solid-state route. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns were recorded at room temperature and could be refined by using R3¯c space group by employing Rietveld techniques. Temperature variations of ac susceptibility down to 30 K were measured at an ac field amplitude of 6 Oe. All the samples exhibit paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition and the transition temperature decreases at the rate of 1.6 K/Al%. Temperature variations of dc electrical resistivity and magneto-resistivity at 10 kOe were measured down to 25 K for all the above samples. Metal-insulator (M-I) transition has been observed for all the samples with transition temperature (Tp) ranging from 285 to 213 K. Resistivity in the metallic region could be explained on the basis of combination of electron-electron and electron-magnon scattering.
