Abstract
We have grown Fe/Ag multilayers with Ag buffer layer, by evaporation under UHV conditions on glass substrates. The magnetic properties of Fe/Ag multilayers are examined as a function of Fe layer thickness tFe. The temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization M(T) is well described by a T3/2 law in all multilayers. A spin-wave theory has been used to explain the temperature dependence of the magnetization and the approximate values for the bulk exchange interaction Jb and surface exchange interaction Js for various Fe layer thicknesses have been obtained.
