Abstract
This paper reports the wet-chemical synthesis and microstructure of a novel lithium iron phosphate, namely the tripolyphosphate LiFe2P3O10. The structural characteristics of LiFe2P3O10 have been studied in detail using the analytical electron microscopy. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) measurements indicate that the grown LiFe2P3O10 is well-crystallized in monoclinic structure (P21/m S.G.) without any indication of crystallographic defects such as dislocations or misfits. The lattice parameters obtained using X-ray diffraction are a = 0.4597 nm, b = 0.8566 nm, c = 0.9051 nm, and β = 97.47°.
