Abstract
Nanocrystalline SnS with different morphologies has been successfully synthesized over Sn metal foils via a solvothermal route by using ethylenediamine, water and their mixture as the solvents. XRD studies indicated that in all the cases pure SnS phase exists. TEM studies revealed well crystallinity of the nanostructures. Oxidation of the metal foil played an important role in the formation of SnS nanostructures. Optical band gap of the samples were found to be ∼1.3 eV.
