Abstract
Stokes beams are those beams that can be expressed as the incoherent superposition of a completely unpolarized beam and a completely polarized beam. In this note analytical expressions and computed examples are given to elucidate the coherence and polarization properties of a class of Stokes beams formed by the sum of two beams produced by rectangular planar sources of different geometrical structures.
