Abstract
We present a detailed analysis of a quantum memory for photons based on cavity-assisted revival of silenced echo. Our protocol, without the need of any external field or spectral hole burning technique, takes the full advantage of the available optical thickness, can provide a broader bandwidth for the practical material systems. Under the impedance matching condition to an optical cavity, we show that the efficiency of the memory can approach unity even for a small optical depth. It overcomes a formidable drawback in existing photon echo quantum memory and can help to realize a high-efficiency quantum memory within the present experimental conditions.
