Abstract
The boundary integral equation technology is extended to investigate the plasmon modes of nanoparticle system consisting of different materials. Modes of the heterodimer and the dependence of resonance energies on the separations between the two spheres are analyzed. Results show that for heterodimer, the charge distribution of the nanospheres is determined not only by coupling between modes, but also by induced field interaction between nanoparticles.
