Abstract
Azimuthally polarized (AP) non-diffracting beams are investigated theoretically and experimentally in this paper. We generate the AP non-diffracting beams by passing laser beams through a polarization converter and an axicon. Both the non-diffracting and the self-reconstruction phenomenon are studied theoretically and experimentally. The azimuthally polarized beams with non-diffracting and self-reconstruction properties may have wide applications in many fields such as particle trapping and manipulation.
