Abstract
The cross-spectral density can be reconstructed, in both magnitude and phase, by applying a two-step procedure defined in the phase-space representation of the optical field, which uses its marginal power spectrum as a two-channel second-order Fourier hologram. The fundamentals of this procedure are discussed and illustrated with basic examples.
