Abstract
A model with curved mesh optical windows is built using ray-optic tracing method for shielding effectiveness evaluation. Due to its unique zero order diffraction transmission characteristics, the metallic mesh used to build the model is treated in the model as a layer of optical film, and the transmission field of curved mesh optical windows is calculated using ray-optic tracing method. A cylindrical mesh optical window sample is fabricated and its shielding effectiveness is measured using a shielding effectiveness measurement system. Simulation results obtained with the model agree well with the experimental results, which proves the validity of the model.
