Abstract
We studied ultraviolet communication characterization in non-common-scattering volume using multiple scattering model based on Monte Carlo method, including impulse response bandwidth, energy intensity, and path loss. An outdoor testbed using a low pressure-mercury lamp was set up to provide support for the correctness of the simulation model. This work is complementary to UV communication characterization in common volume. It is useful in UV system design, networks technology and weaker UV signal detecting in non-common-scattering volume.
