Abstract
⺠The focal length of a graded-index photonic crystal was shown to be determined by several parameters of the structure. ⺠The results were explained by the traditional theory and multimode interference. ⺠Multimode interference was proved in this paper for the first time to play an important role in the focusing of a GRIN PhC lens.
