Abstract
Based on the interference of six symmetric beams, we introduce a new way to produce propagation-invariant hollow beams with hexagonal symmetry. The hollow beams have a dark center and hexagonal shape. They can be optical vortices, radially or azimuthally polarized beams. The results of simulation demonstrate the feasibility of this method.
Research Highlights► We proposed a method to produce hollow beams with hexagonal array. ► The hollow beams have the characteristic of propagation invariance. ► The hollow beams can be optical vortices, radially, azimuthally polarized beams. ► It can be used to study the characteristics of hollow beams array in medium.
