Abstract
We analyze the tunability of out-of-plane band gap in two-dimensional photonic crystals created by square and triangular lattices of air holes in anisotropic tellurium background, considering that the rods are infiltrated with liquid crystal. Using the plane wave expansion method, we study the variation of out-of-plane band gap by changing the optical axis orientation of liquid crystal.
