Abstract
Air turbulence is introduced to disturb the laser-beam before irradiating multi-step phase plates (MPP), which improve the light uniformity irradiation in the focal plane. The far-field character of the disturbed wavefront with and without MPP has been studied including the effects of large-scale phase fluctuations. Simulation results indicate that the intensity distribution can be smoothed by using the new method with the remaining flat-top profile on target plane after a period of accumulation.
