Abstract
Intensity modulation and multi modes hopping in Nd:YAG lasers subjected to optical feedback have been studied experimentally and theoretically. Their dependence on the external-cavity-phase has been studied. The results are compared with the predictions of the model of threshold gain modulation. As the initial length of external cavity is changed the number of hopping modes also changes.
