Abstract
Nonpolarizing beam splitters, which are based on the form birefringence of subwavelength multilayer binary gratings, have been proposed. The design is based on effective-medium theory and thin-film theory. Rigorous coupled-wave analysis is used to optimize the design of this nonpolarizing beam splitter. The simulation shows that the structure can eliminate polarization effect and provide high reflectivity.
