Abstract
An optimizing method of designing the three-dimensional, two-dimensional and one-dimensional superresolving amplitude filters is presented. The method is applying the well-known optimization tools in MATLAB to optimize the figures of merit that characterize the intensity distributions in the focal region. We have designed some three-zone amplitude filters by using our method. Results of comparisons between the performance of our method and that of other amplitude-, phase-, and hybrid amplitude-phase-filter designs are provided, which show that the optimized three-zone amplitude filters have better three-dimensional superresolution performance.
