Abstract
Selfmixing fringes shift according to a λ/6 optical displacement is observed which is shown to be due to the multiple reflections and the asymmetry of external cavity. A theory of selfmixing taking into account these factors is proposed. The theoretical analysis is seen to yield a simulation in good agreement with the experiment results reported.
