Abstract
⺠The discrete optical soliton scattering by point defects is studied analytically and numerically. ⺠The analytical expressions are derived for the reflection and transmission of nonlinear waves at a point defect. ⺠It is shown that the point defects allow to effectively control and manipulate the discrete optical solitons.
