Abstract
⺠In quantum wires, acoustic scattering controls the transport at low temperatures. ⺠Traditionally one assumes negligible energy and equipartition law for the phonons. ⺠Theory of low-temperature transport in quantum wires is developed. ⺠Finite phonon energy and the full phonon distribution are taken into account. ⺠Theory yields significantly different characteristics for GaAs-GaAlAs wires.
